Radio should not have a problem with this. Anyone looking for a small case to have for protecting there Sat. I bought this case so when I stop at hotels I can take it out and have a secure pouch to carry it in. I only gave it 4 stars because it would be nice if Sirius would come out with a little case to carry everything ( mount, dock, wires and antenna ) in but until then I am very happy, not quite sure about previous review about it not fitting the Starmate 4 snugly, mine fits snug.
It's cushioned enough and serves its purpose, but I wish it accomodated the remote also. Bought this case for my husband's Sportster 4.
In fact, I cannot see the remote fitting in with a Sportster 4 or 5, only with a slimmer model like the Starmate.Overall, great product for the price. The case is also stiff enough to help protect your receiver in case you place it inside luggage or a larger carrying case. THERE IS NO SEPARATE COMPARTMENT FOR THE REMOTE. This case is a great, simple pouch for Sirius Universal port receivers. As long as it protects my receiver from the house to the car to the office, I am ecstatic. The seems are stitched well and seem sturdy. I own the Sportster 5 and it fits snugly into the single-pouch case. The inside lining is soft enough so that it doesn't scratch the screen of your receiver.
Additionally, the clip that holds the flap to the case is magnetic, yet it isn't strong enough to pull the flap in unless it is buckled in carefully.Otherwise, this case is great if you carry your receiver around between car and house, or anywhere else. In other words, it will not fit snug in the case and has room to move. This case is designed for the larger Plug N' Play receivers such as the Sportster 3 & 4. Shorter profile receivers, such as the Starmate 3 & 4, will fit in this case, but will have about two inches of wiggle room at the top.
I believe that a better description than "Compatible with all Sirius receivers with universal docking ports" should be provided or explain the "universal" part. Product description is not adequate. This carry case does not and will not fit an SP-R2 Sirius radio.
